We’re closing out 2024 and the launch of The Literature of Japanese American Incarceration with appreciation for everyone who attended one of our events this year or picked up a copy of our Penguin Classics anthology.
We spoke at 40 events over the past year, 15 of them in support of the new anthology. Thanks to your great response, the book is now in its third printing and appears headed for at long life on home bookshelves and in school classrooms. The book critic at L.A. Taco has named it among his 38 best books of the year, and it’s mentioned by our editor in today’s edition of the New York Times Sunday Book Review.
We’re glad the book is out now ahead of the storm that is coming with the change at the top of American government. The history and literature of wartime incarceration is one we will need to assert and defend, and we’ll be back out on the road in 2025. For now, we’ll enjoy this holiday moment of peace and be ready for whatever is to come.
